Brandon Ichiro Tani is an interdisciplinary artist based in San Diego, California. His works with lens-based art and sound seek to find an intimate connection to the “hidden witness” of the sacred and routine. He is drawn to the localized collection of the real and grounded, through field recording and images, and organizing and processing these elements into larger asynchronous forms, renditions, and collages. These abstractions, fragments, and micro-narratives weave into investigations that resemble the patterns and texture of everyday life and land.
